Chain of Hope Belgium maintains a solidarity fund to cover medical costs for children who would otherwise not have access to medical care: this fund is used to pay for medical & surgical interventions on children who are brought to Belgium for treatment and to contribute to the cost of treatment in our NGO-partner countries.
Currently, Benin is the only country that benefits from the financial support of Chain of Hope Belgium. The NGO’s financial contributions cover the cost of accommodation & food (or the equivalent per-diem) for the medical teams who travel to Tanguiéta to treat the children and the hospital Saint-Jean de Dieu takes care of all the arrangements.
Similarly, the concept of a fund has been agreed by all partners of the project to cover, either partially or totally, the medical costs of the most impoverished patients who will receive treatment at the Ngaliema Clinic’s center for pediatric surgery in the DRC. The project partners will actively participate in the selection of patients as well as fundraising: the solidarity fund will be operational as of the start of activities and will be supported mainly by local donations from private companies and charitable organisations.
